Kiddie Goat Junior Lessons (currently sold out...click here to be added to a waistlist)
-
Eight week program
- Begins the week of June 12th with the last week being August 7th.
- The week of July 3rd is skipped due to Fourth of July.
-
Perfect for ages 6-9, but not a requirement
- We have found, due to the amount of walking and activities performed throughout the class, that golfers under the age of 6 have a difficult time maintaing their physcial stamina compared to their older peers, which can lead to emotional breakdowns and class disruption. This is why we highly recommend being at least 6 years of age to participate in our classes.
- If you believe your child is on the mature side of the cognitive, affective, and physical (CAP) spectrum AND/OR has a sibling that can be a support for them, then you are welcome to register for the Kiddie Goat as long as they are at least 5 years of age.
- Children over the age of 9 are welcome, especially if there is a younger sibling in the Kiddie Goat; however, please know that the average age of this program is around 7-8 years old and take CAP into consideration.
-
Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday at 10:00am until 12:00pm
- Pick a day and that will be your lesson day for eight weeks. For example, choose Tuesdays and you will always arrive on Tuesdays.
- We understand the craziness of one's summer schedule; therefore, switching days is allowed without notice should you miss any lessons.
- If you will miss a class or two due to vacation, daily life of a family, etc., you can make up the missed lessons by coming twice or three times in a given week.
-
Each lesson consists of instruction and the option to play on the Par 3 course
- The first part of the lesson will be golf related training activities that will teach the fundamentals, skills, coordination, rules and etiquette of the game of golf.
- We plan on having your child move around quite a bit as the emphasis will be on safety, fun, and learning. If your child is safe and they have some fun, then, more than likely, they'll learn something along the way.
- The goal is to have rotating stations throughout our class to help keep your child engaged. Stations may include the following: balance, agility, distance control, striking, speed, mechanics, and fundamentals of the golf swing such as aim, grip, and stance.
- The second part will be on our Billy Goat Par 3 Course with your child playing golf. Here we will begin our focus on setting goals to shoot par (4 strokes) on each hole they play from various distances regardless of age or ability.
- It's not necessary to play the par three, but it is a great way for your child to interact with our coaches, and learn about on-course etiquette and course knowledge.
- You are welcome to pick your child up an hour after the start of the lesson if they will not play the par three; otherwise, plan on picking your child up two hours after the lesson starts.
- The first part of the lesson will be golf related training activities that will teach the fundamentals, skills, coordination, rules and etiquette of the game of golf.
-
Other details
- Each junior will receive a welcoming gift and eight free rounds on the Par 3 course above and beyond the lessons.
- If your child does not have their own clubs, junior clubs will be provided during the lesson for free.
- Our goal is to have a five to seven student to teacher ratio.
- We have a mix of excellent instructors that will be with your children. We have PE teachers, golf coaches from local high school teams, ex college golfers, ex high school golfers, PGA professionals, and a TPI Junior professional. This great mix of instructors will ensure the safety, fun and learning motto will take place for your juniors.
