    2024 Junior Instruction

Kiddie Goat Junior Program

**The Kiddie Goat Program is sold out, but there is still room in the Billy Goat! To be placed on a Kiddie Goat waiting list, please click on the following link: 2024 Kiddie Goat Waiting List.**

  • Eight week program
    • Begins the week of June 10th with the last week being August 5th.
    • The week of July 1st is skipped due to Fourth of July.
  • Perfect for ages 6-9, but not a requirement
    • Due to the amount of walking and activities performed throughout the class, golfers under the age of 6 may have a difficult time maintaing their physcial stamina compared to their older peers, which can lead to emotional breakdowns and class disruption. We recommend being at least 6 years of age to participate in this class.
    • If you believe your child is on the mature side of the cognitive, affective, and physical (CAP) spectrum AND/OR has a sibling that can be a support for them, then you are welcome to register for the Kiddie Goat as long as they are at least 5 years of age.
    • Children over the age of 9 are welcome, especially if there is a younger sibling; however, please note that the average age of this program is around 7-8 years old and take CAP into consideration.
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday at 10:00am until 12:00pm
    • Pick a day and that will be your lesson day for eight weeks. For example, choose Tuesdays and you will always arrive on Tuesdays.
    • If you will miss a class or two due to vacation, daily life of a family, etc., you can make up the missed lessons by coming twice or three times in a given week.
  • Each lesson consists of instruction and the option to play on the Par 3 course
    • The first part of the lesson will be golf related training activities that will teach the fundamentals, skills, coordination, rules and etiquette of the game of golf.
      • We plan on having your child move around quite a bit as the emphasis will be on safety, fun, and learning. If your child is safe and they have some fun, then, more than likely, they'll learn something along the way.
      • The goal is to have rotating stations throughout our class to help keep your child engaged. Stations may include the following: balance, agility, distance control, striking, speed, mechanics, full swing, chipping, putting, and fundamentals of the golf swing such as aim, grip, and stance.
    • The second part will be on our Billy Goat Par 3 Course with your child playing golf. Here we will begin our focus on setting goals to shoot par (4 strokes) on each hole they play from various distances regardless of age or ability.
      • It's not necessary to play the par three, but it is a great way for your child to interact with our coaches, and learn about on-course etiquette and course knowledge.
      • You are welcome to pick your child up an hour after the start of the lesson if they will not play the par three; otherwise, plan on picking your child up two hours after the lesson starts.
  • Other details
    • Each junior will receive a welcoming gift and eight free rounds on the Par 3 course above and beyond the lessons, which is a $100 value.
    • If your child does not have their own clubs, junior clubs will be provided during the lesson for free.
    • Our goal is to have a five to seven student to teacher ratio.
    • We have a team of excellent coaches who will prioritize the safety, fun, and learning motto for your children.

Billy Goat Junior Program

  • Eight week program
    • Begins the week of June 10th with the last week being August 5th.
    • The week of July 1st is skipped due to Fourth of July.
  • Perfect for ages 10-13, but not a requirement
    • This program is designed (not required) for those that have previously participated in our Kiddie Goat program.
    • Must be at least 9 years old as the average age is around 11-12; golfers older than 13 are also welcome, especially if there is a younger sibling in the class.
    • Please take your child's cognitive, affective, and physcial stages into consideration when considering this class.
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday at 1:00pm until 3:00pm
    • Pick a day and that will be your lesson day for eight weeks. For example, choose Tuesdays and you will always arrive on Tuesdays.
    • If you will miss a class or two due to vacation, daily life of a family, etc., you can make up the missed session by coming twice or three times in a given week.
  • Each session consists of instruction and play on the Par 3 course
    • The first part of the lesson will focus on golf training activities that will continue to refine their fundamentals, skills, coordination, rules and etiquette of the game of golf.
      • Your child will move around with a continued emphasis on safety, fun, and learning. Remember, if your child is safe, they have fun, then they'll learn something along the way.
      • The goal is to have rotating stations throughout our lessons to help keep your child engaged. Stations may include the following: balance, agility, distance control, striking, speed, mechanics, full swing, chipping, putting, and fundamentals of the golf swing such as aim, grip, and stance.
    • The second part will be on our Billy Goat Par 3 Course with your child playing golf. Here we are going to begin our focus on setting goals to shoot 36 from various distances regardless of age or ability.
      • Ideally, all juniors complete 6 to 9 holes each class, unlike the Kiddie Goat Progarm where a golfer has the option to play the par 3.
        • We understand this can't always happen due to scheduling, other sports, vaction, etc., so this certainly isn't a requirement.
        • We use scores obtained each week to establish short-term objectives while not losing sight of our long-term goal of shooting 36 within 9 holes.
        • Scores are also used as a reference for those interested in our PGA Junior League.
  • Other details
    • Each junior will receive a welcoming gift at registration and eight free rounds on the Par 3 course above and beyond the lessons, which is a $100 value.
