EVENT FORMATS:

Outing Team Events

Scramble:
Each team consists of four players.  On each hole, each team drives and the best drive is selected by the team captain.  Each team member then plays a second shot from the spot where the selected drive lay, and the best second shot is chosen.  This process is repeated until the hole is completed.

Best Ball:
Four players are a team, ideally a class A, B, C and D.  Full handicap can be used or a percentage.  Golfers apply their handicap strokes to each hole and the lowest net score on each hole is recorded as the team score.

Best Ball Variation:
A four person team event.  One best score is used on par - five holes, two best scores on par - fours and three best scores on par - three holes.

Outing Individual Events

Handicap Stroke Play:
Players play 18 holes at stroke play.  Prizes may be awarded for best gross and net scores.  Full handicaps are used.

Chicago System:
Each player is given a point quota, based on his/her handicap.
Points are scored: Bogey - 1, Par - 2, Birdie - 4, Eagle - 8.  The player whose point total for 18 holes most exceeds his/her point quota (or comes closest) wins.

Formats Used When Not All Handicapped

Callaway System:
A players handicap is determined after each complete round by deducting from his/her gross score the scores of the works individual holes during the first 16 holes of his/her 18 hole round.

Peoria System:
The golf staff selects a par 3, 4 and 5 on each 9 holes.  Multiply the amount over par on the selected holes by 3 and this will equal the handicap to be deducted.

Other events are available upon request.

Guidelines
Guarantees
The final number of players must be confirmed with Pleasant View Golf Course 10 days prior to the outing with the payment for that number being made at that time. If no guarantee is received, the estimate indicated on the original signed contract will be established guaranteed attendance or if greater amount that will become the number. The final guaranteed number you specify will be what you will be charged for, even if that number is lower on the day of your outing.

Contract and Billing
In order to guarantee tee times, a signed contract must be returned to Pleasant View Golf Course no later than ten (10) days from the date of your outing. We require payment in full at this time. We accept cash, personal checks, travelers checks, as well as Visa and Master Card.

Food and Beverage Services
All food and/or beverage must be purchased from and prepared by Pleasant View Golf Course. Box lunches and menu package selections are to be made at least ten (10) days prior to the scheduled outing, at which time, a final guaranteed count of meals will be provided.

Pace of Play
All players are required to observe pace of play policies. Normal pace of play is 4 hours and 15 minutes. For the enjoyment of all outing participants, if any outing guest fails to keep up with pace of play, they will be politely reminded to keep pace or asked to pick up and catch up with the group in front of them.

Golf Cart Operation
The group shall assume all responsibility for compliance by its guests with policies relative to golf cart operation. Damage to any golf cart will be the responsibility of the individual or event coordinator (individual who's name appears on contract).

Golf Attire
Proper traditional golf attire would be appreciated by all. Shirts must be worn at all times on the golf course and in the clubhouse. For greens sake we require soft spiked golf shoes or athletic foot wear.

Equipment
We require that each golfer has their own set of golf clubs. Sharing of golf clubs is prohibited as it slows the pace of play. High quality golf clubs for men, women and children are available through the golf shop at a reasonable price.
